Journeys Within Books

Translation

There is a type of travel that does not involve physical movement. It is a wandering of the spirit that begins by opening the door of a book. Tracing the trajectories of thought left behind by the sages of old is a dialogue that transcends time and space, and is synonymous with placing oneself in the foreign land of unknown ideas. There, neither physical fatigue nor complicated procedures for crossing borders exist. The journey of reading sometimes shakes our inner selves more deeply than actual travel. The process of imagining the scenery of an unfamiliar land from words and projecting our own inner selves onto it is an extremely creative act. After closing the book, we return to the reality of daily life, carrying a different perspective than before we started. The journey within books is a path of self-discovery that never ends.
