Terms of Service

These Terms govern your use of yomion (the “Service”), operated by aaen studios(“we”, “us”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to them. If you don't agree, don't use the Service. The free tier requires no account and is available without these Terms applying beyond acceptable use below.

• You must be at least the minimum age in your jurisdiction (and not under 13).
• Keep your account credentials secure; you're responsible for activity under your account.
• Use accurate information. A verified email is required to start a trial, and trials are limited to one per verified email.
• Don't share, sell, or transfer access to your account.

You agree not to:

• Use the Service to break the law or anyone's rights.
• Abuse, overload, or attempt to bypass limits, caps, or rate-limiting on the Service or its AI features.
• Submit content that is unlawful, infringing, malicious, harassing, or that you don't have the right to submit.
• Scrape, reverse-engineer, or build a competing product from the Service without permission.
• Interfere with security, billing, or the experience of other users.

User content (custom decks, scenarios, icons) is yours; you grant us the limited right to host and display it to run the Service for you.

• Plans. yomion offers paid Plus and Pro plans. Current prices are shown on our Plans page (Plus $8/month or $60/year; Pro $18/month or $150/year).
• Trial. New accounts get a 3-day full Plus trial with no card required. After the trial, the free tier applies unless you choose to subscribe.
• Billing. Payments are handled by Stripe. We never receive your card details. Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled.
• Cancellation. Cancel anytime from Settings → Account (Stripe customer portal). You keep access until the end of the current paid period.
• Refunds. Refunds are at our discretion; email elliot@aaenz.no and we'll work with you. Stripe's terms also apply to your payment method.
• AI caps. AI features are subject to daily caps and fair-use limits, even on paid plans, as described on the Plans page.

Some content — grammar lessons, explanations, scenario chat, and generated icons/sentences — is produced or assisted by AI and reviewed by a human. It may contain errors. yomion is a learning aid, not an accredited teacher, medical device, or professional advice. Always confirm important Japanese (e.g. for official, legal, or business use) with a qualified human source.

You can delete your account or stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you break these Terms, create legal or security risk, or fail to pay. On termination, your right to use the Service ends; we'll delete your data per our Privacy Policy.

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind — no promise of accuracy, fitness for a purpose, uninterrupted service, or that defects will be fixed. Some jurisdictions don't allow certain warranty exclusions, so some of these may not apply to you.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, neither aaen studios nor its providers are liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, study progress, or profits, arising from your use of (or inability to use) the Service. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim (or, for free-tier users, US $1).

These Terms are governed by the laws of Norway, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules, except where local mandatory consumer-protection law gives you greater rights. You may bring disputes in your local courts where required by law.

(Governing law defaults to Norway based on the founder's location. Override in the page source if aaen studios is established elsewhere.)

We may update these Terms as the Service evolves. We'll post the new version here with an updated “Last updated” date. Material changes may also be sent by email. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
