Inheritance and Change in Food Culture

Translation

Japanese food culture has developed alongside the changing of the four seasons. Cooking methods that respect seasonal ingredients and bring out their natural flavors form the foundation of Japanese cuisine. However, in modern society, there are concerns that traditional eating habits are being lost due to the globalization of food and changes in lifestyles. On the other hand, we must not forget that culture is not something fixed, but something that is constantly changing. Perhaps the key to connecting culture to the next generation lies in incorporating new ingredients and cooking techniques and evolving to meet the needs of the times. Future food culture requires an attitude of not only protecting tradition but also flexibly accepting change.
