旅(たび)の計画(けいかく)を立てる(たてる)際(さい)、ガイドブックやインターネットで情報(じょうほう)を収集(しゅうしゅう)し、効率(こうりつ)よく観光スポット(かんこうすぽっと)を回ることを重視(じゅうし)する人(ひと)は多い(おおい)。確かに、限られた休暇(きゅうか)を最大限(さいだいげん)に活用(かつよう)するために、事前(じぜん)の準備(じゅんび)は不可欠(ふかけつ)だ。しかし、旅の本当(ほんとう)の面白さ(おもしろさ)は、計画通り(とおり)にいかない瞬間(しゅんかん)にこそ隠されている(かくされている)のではないだろうか。

A small restaurant found by chance after getting lost, or a hidden landmark learned through a casual conversation with a local. Such 'unexpected encounters' are not things that can be obtained no matter how meticulously you plan. Perhaps we are forgetting the joy of coincidence while traveling because we pursue efficiency too much. Sometimes, close the map and try walking wherever your mood takes you. Having that kind of leeway is the secret to making travel even richer.
