買(か)い物(もの)の失敗(しっぱい)

昨日、スーパーで買(か)い物(もの)をしていた時(とき)のことです。とても安(やす)い野菜(やさい)を見(み)つけて、嬉(うれ)しくなってたくさん買ってしまいました。しかし、家(いえ)に帰(かえ)って冷蔵庫(れいぞうこ)に入(い)れておいたら、結局(けっきょく)使(つか)いきれずに腐(くさ)らせてしまったのです。

一人暮らしだと、どうしても食材を余らせてしまいます。安いからといって買(か)いすぎるのは良くないと反省(はんせい)しました。これからは、必要(ひつよう)な分(ぶん)だけを買うように気(き)をつけたいと思います。無駄(むだ)を減(へ)らすことは、節約(せつやく)にもつながりますからね。

Translation

Yesterday, while I was shopping at the supermarket, something happened. I found very cheap vegetables and was so happy that I bought a lot. However, after I went home and put them in the refrigerator, I ended up not being able to use them all and let them rot. Living alone, I inevitably end up with leftover food. I reflected that it is not good to buy too much just because it is cheap. From now on, I want to be careful to buy only what I need. Reducing waste also leads to saving money, after all.
