場 (place) + 合 (combine) — where situations combine into a specific case.

Example sentences

• 雨の場合は、中止します。

  あめのばあいは、ちゅうしします。

  In case of rain, it will be canceled.

• 遅刻する場合は連絡してください。

  ちこくするばあいはれんらくしてください。

  Please contact us if you'll be late.

Usage
