The pre-noun form of 小さい, used only directly before a noun it modifies.

Example sentences

• 小さな庭に花を植えました。

  ちいさなにわにはなをうえました。

  I planted flowers in the small garden.

• 彼は小さな声で歌いました。

  かれはちいさなこえでうたいました。

  He sang in a small, quiet voice.

Usage

Pre-noun only (連体詞); cannot end a sentence the way 小さい can.
