入 (to enter) + 口 (opening): the opening you enter through.

Example sentences

• 駅の入口はあちらです。

  えきのいりぐちはあちらです。

  The station entrance is over there.

• 店の入口で友達を待っています。

  みせのいりぐちでともだちをまっています。

  I'm waiting for a friend at the shop entrance.

Usage

Noun; its opposite is 出口 (exit). Use に or の for location.
