How to remember it

Same kanji as 時間, but after a number it counts how many hours something lasts.

Example sentences

• 二時間寝ました。

  にじかんねました。

  I slept for two hours.

• 三時間勉強しました。

  さんじかんべんきょうしました。

  I studied for three hours.

Usage

Attach to a number (1時間, 2時間); for clock time use 時 (じ) instead.
