How to remember it

交 (cross) + 差 (deviate) + 点 (point) — the point where roads cross and paths deviate.

Example sentences

• 次の交差点を右に曲がってください。

  つぎのこうさてんをみぎにまがってください。

  Please turn right at the next intersection.

• あの交差点は事故が多いです。

  あのこうさてんはじこがおおいです。

  That intersection has many accidents.

Usage

Often used with 信号 (traffic light) and 次の (next) when giving directions.
