How to remember it

Moushi (saying) + ageru (to raise up) — you raise your words respectfully toward the listener.

Example sentences

• 私から社長に申し上げます。

  わたしからしゃちょうにもうしあげます。

  I will tell the company president.

• 申し上げるべきことがございます。

  もうしあげるべきことがございます。

  There is something I should say.

Usage

Humble (kenjougo) form of 言う; used toward superiors or customers.
