退院

How to remember it

退 (withdraw) + 院 (institution) — withdraw from the institution you were staying in.

Example sentences

• 父は明日退院する予定です。

  ちちはあしたたいいんするよていです。

  My father is scheduled to be discharged tomorrow.

• 退院したばかりで、まだ体調が悪い。

  たいいんしたばかりで、まだたいちょうがわるい。

  I was just discharged and still don't feel well.

Usage

Suru verb; the opposite is 入院する (to be hospitalized).
