途中

How to remember it

途 (path) + 中 (middle) = in the middle of the path or process.

Example sentences

• 途中で雨が降り出しました。

  とちゅうであめがふりだしました。

  It started raining on the way.

• 仕事の途中で電話がかかってきた。

  しごとのとちゅうででんわがかかってきた。

  A phone call came in in the middle of work.

Usage

Common with で (at some point midway); also means mid-action.
